About Pixlush
We are a dedicated team of engineers and designers on a mission to democratize file conversion. We make high-performance tools fast, free, and completely private by eliminating unnecessary server uploads.
Our Mission
Pixlush was founded in 2024 out of pure frustration. We were tired of the status quo of online utility tools. Every time we needed to simply convert a PNG to a JPG, compress a PDF, or remove a background, we were forced to:
- Wait in artificial queues.
- Upload our sensitive personal or business files to unknown servers across the globe.
- Hit paywalls demanding $15/month subscriptions for basic tasks.
- Download software bundled with watermarks or aggressive ads.
We realized that modern web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge) had become incredibly powerful — essentially operating systems in their own right. They possessed the raw computing capability to manipulate images, edit PDFs, and run AI models natively.
"Our mission is to build the world's most powerful suite of browser-based utilities, giving everyone access to professional-grade tools that process files locally, keeping data completely private and eliminating server costs."
Zero-Upload Privacy
We believe your data belongs to you. Traditional converters act as middlemen, taking custody of your files to process them. Pixlush uses Client-Side Architecture. The processing engine runs inside your web browser. Your private photos, tax documents, and business contracts never leave your hard drive. We literally couldn't look at your files even if we wanted to.
Radically Free
How can we offer tools for free that others charge for? By changing the paradigm. Because Pixlush uses your device's computing power (CPU/GPU) to process the files, our server costs are nearly zero. We only pay to host the website itself. We sustain this lightweight infrastructure through unobtrusive advertising, allowing us to keep the tools permanently free for students, professionals, and creatives globally.
Desktop-Grade Power, In Your Browser
We push the boundaries of what web applications can do.
WebAssembly (WASM)
We compile high-performance C++ and Rust libraries directly into the browser, enabling native desktop speed for complex tasks like HEIC decoding and PDF manipulation.
Hardware Acceleration
Our image tools utilize the HTML5 Canvas API and WebGL, tapping directly into your device's Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for instant resizing, rotation, and compression.
On-Device AI
We are actively implementing WebGPU and Transformers.js to run neural networks locally, bringing background removal and image upscaling to your device without API calls.
The Team & The Future
Pixlush is developed by a small, independent group of software engineers and UI/UX designers who are passionate about web performance and digital privacy. Based globally, we collaborate asynchronously to continuously improve the platform.
Looking ahead, our roadmap for 2026 and 2027 focuses on expanding our local AI capabilities. We are working on bringing more advanced document processing, bulk audio conversion, and offline progressive web app (PWA) support to the suite — ensuring that no matter what file type you encounter, Pixlush will be the only tool you need to handle it securely.
